Dr. Coletti interned at the Nassau County Medical Center, where he later landed a residency as well. Here, he was also the President of the Housestaff Organization. Mr. Coletti’s next stop was the 2-year cardiology fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Medial Center. Later, he moved on to one-year of Interventional Cardiology fellowship, first person to undergo such a training in the entire NY Metropolitan area. During his fellowship, Dr. Coletti is also credited with the discovery of Abdominal Counterpulsation CPR, in association with Dr. David Bregman.
For the first 12 years, Dr. Roger Coletti remained on the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey. After working with several other New Jersey hospitals, in 1995, he moved to the Hackensack University Medical Center and later in 2009, to The Valley Hospital. Thereafter, he shifted to Delaware in 2014 to work at Beebe Healthcare (formerly known as Beebe Hospital and Medical Center).
His practice and continued research work has earned him a spot in some of the most prestigious organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Medical Association, and the American College of Phlebology. In fact, he is currently the only physician in the entire state of Delaware to have a fellowship status in the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
His goal has always been to maximize his learning and hone his skills as a cardiologist. When angioplasty was a rather new procedure, Dr. Coletti used to visit and observe Dr. Gerald Durros and Dr. Jeffrey Hartzler administering the procedure, who were at the time, experts in the field. Then, he became highly proficient in the procedure, and has performed more than 400 angioplasty procedures within just one year. He has had a brilliant safety record to show for, despite the large number of difficult cases that he has taken up.
With over ten years of using lasers and many atherectomy devices for complex peripheral intervention. He also has an amazing decade long experience in endovenos laser ablation. He is also well-versed with coronary brachytherapy and coronary laser.
All this non-stop work and wearing lead aprons for interventional procedures culminated in him developing chronic pain in the back. But, he took it again as an opportunity and jumped into researching chronic pain and finding alternative treatment to chronic spasms of the muscle, which he believed to be the biggest cause of chronic pain in the world. He has spent more than 10 years to studying this field. Three of his abstracts were published in the renowned and well-respected journal, Muscle & Nerve and he has also presented his work at the nationally-held meetings of the American Society of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He has also treated scores of patients suffering from similar problems. Some of these people were suffering from acute pain for years and his treatment has completely cured them of any pain. He has developed the Coletti Method EMG guided Chemodenervation (CMEC), which is a low cost solution to chronic muscular pain. It has been presented across the country, so that physicians can use the technique freely. He is still waiting for a trademark, so that the procedure is performed correctly.
Roger Coletti MD is not only a brilliant doctor and researcher, he also has a patent on the Y2K solution that he found for data storage. He also enjoys sailing, snowboarding and welding. He has been happily married for 43 years with two sons, who have families of their own.
